Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School

To be the best you can be:for God, for others and for ourselves

Holy Trinity Church

Holy Trinity Southport is a Church where all are welcome to find the meaning of their lives in the worship of God.

We have our Praise Worship in church every Friday afternoon, including a talk and prayer from Father Tom and celebrating our children’s successes and achievements.

We also have Church services at Harvest, Remembrance Day, Christmas, Easter and End of Year Celebration. These are whole school events, with parents and governors welcome to watch.

Father Tom often comes to visit children in school and often is invited in RE lessons to answer children’s questions about prayer, the Bible and how faith affects a believer’s lifestyle.

Throughout the year, different classes also visit Church as part of their RE curriculum to learn about baptism, features of a traditional church and Christianity through art.

Many school children have also had their first Holy Communion at Holy Trinity Southport which has been a delight to see.

A message from Father Tom

"Holy Trinity Church and Holy Trinity School share the same bit of land on the corner of Manchester Road and Houghton Street, and the same mission: to bring people together in Jesus. As Christians, we believe that Jesus reconciled earth and heaven, time and eternity and created things with God who created them.

At the centre of our Church life is the Eucharist (or Mass), in which we celebrate Jesus’ presence in the bread and wine he transforms into his Body and Blood. In the rest of our lives we try to live out the blessing we receive there from Jesus.

In Church on weekdays there is Morning Prayer at 9am, the Eucharist at 9.30am, and Evening Prayer at 5pm. On Sundays the Eucharist is at 8.30 and 10 am. The Church is open every day from morning to evening, and all are welcome to come in, pray and light a candle."

The parish priests are governors of the School, and are about during the school day. If they can be any help to anyone, they are happy to stop and talk. Alternatively, they can be contacted by email at holytrinitysouthport@gmail.com
