Our school takes reasonable steps to store medicines and make them available to children. There are, however, no legal or contractual requirements for members of staff to administer medication, if children cannot manage themselves, parents will be offered the facility of coming in to school.
If this is not possible, staff may volunteer to help, but written permission from the child’s parent/carer is necessary. Staff will only administer medication where the medication is clearly named and prescribed by a doctor.
