School Day

Children need to be on the Infant Playground by 8.45. They are collected from here by their class teacher at 8.50 and registration is at 8.55. The teaching day begins promptly at 9 am.

There is a fifteen minute playtime in the morning for Years 1 and 2. Reception class do not have a timetabled playtime as their learning and play uses the playground throughout the day.

Lunchtime begins at 11.40 although groups of children take it in turns to read with a teacher and teaching assistant in the classroom until noon. Lunch finishes at 1pm.

There is a fifteen minute playtime for Years 1 and 2 during the afternoon.

The school day finishes at 3.10. Children can then be picked up from the playground where they will be safely handed over.

In the interests of safety the school holds an agreement filled in by home that states which adults are allowed to pick up a child. Parents or carers are asked to contact the school before the end of the school day if their child is being picked up by somebody not on that list. If we have not had permission given by a parent we cannot allow a child to go home with another adult.

Supervision on the Junior playground begins at 8.30. For safety reason children should not be arriving before this unless they are attending Before School Club

Junior children should be on the Junior Playground from 8.45. They are collected from the playground by a member of staff at 8.50 and registration is at 8.55. Teaching time begins at 9am.

Junior children have a break in the morning of 15 minutes. Lunchtime for the Juniors is from 12.10 until 1pm. There is no official playtime in the afternoon but teachers may give the children a short break within the afternoon if necessary.

The school day in the Juniors finishes at 3.20 and children exit the school from the Junior playground door.
